I have been converted to using Nabble to read this
list.
However, I would like to see my own posts in the threads on my machine. I have an email address to send original posts to. I can just <reply> in Thunderbird but my posts do not get sent back to me. I have found out that Nabble is basically a webmail (through a browser) approach rather than a email (through a mail program) approach. I contacted their support and understand that the "list owner" can do a patch that will allow seeing my own posts. Does anybody know who started the SPSSX list on Nabble? Yes I do have my posts in the"sent" folder so I can go back to look them up. But it would be much easier if I could continue to have filters automatically put SPSSX discussion in that folder in the correct place in the thread. -- Art Kendall Social Research Consultants

Hi Art,
At the bottom of the post when you reply you should see a checkbox captioned: "Alert me by email when someone posts to this thread" The Nabble SPSS list creator is a very helpful person named Hugo . http://spssx-discussion.1045642.n5.nabble.com/user/SendEmail.jtp?type=user&user=7184 One reason why the group is SPAM free. Whenever I see SPAM I notify him. He once asked me if I wanted to co-moderate. I declined due to possible conflict of interests. I would like it if somehow AUTOMATIC replies could be nixed. Maybe you can mention that if you contact him. David
Please reply to the list and not to my personal email.
Those desiring my consulting or training services please feel free to email me. --- "Nolite dare sanctum canibus neque mittatis margaritas vestras ante porcos ne forte conculcent eas pedibus suis." Cum es damnatorum possederunt porcos iens ut salire off sanguinum cliff in abyssum?" |

Maybe as a workaround you could subscribe to the RSS feed (I presume Thunderbird has an RSS feed subscription). You will get all new responses (including your own) and the heading of the initial question.
I typically just use a feed reader to monitor new questions/answers, and then if I need a refresher on the post history just go to the actual NABBLE page. |
