How to read a Quanvert database in SPSS

Leo Soares
Hi all,

I need to convert a Quanvert database (.PKD extension) to a SPSS readable
file format (i.e., .sav or tab-separated ascii files), but unfortunately I
don’t have the Quanvert software.

I know I could import it through SPSS dimension, but the Quanvert format
is extremely tricky and the whole process is very time consuming.

Can anyone help me?

Oliver, Richard
So you do not want to use the "Open Dimensions Data" feature available on the File menu in SPSS?

Re: How to read a Quanvert database in SPSS

DataMaestro
I believe that is a good starting point to read the data in.

You will get expect help if you post this on vergeconsulting.com forum;  experts in the Dimensions data model frequent that forum.

Good luck!

RES: How to read a Quanvert database in SPSS

Leo Soares
In reply to this post by Oliver, Richard
Yes, Richard. Im looking for an alternative method to export pkd file to
spss that allows direct access to the database.

Oliver, Richard
More direct than editing the SQL provided in the generated GET DATA command?
