How to strip previous posts from our replies

Art Kendall
If I recall correctly, at one time there was a post to this list about how to remove parts of the conversation that were redundant.
For example, each successive post in a conversation quotes all of the previous conversations so when I go to nabble I see the many repeats of the dame information.

I am using Nabble to reply to Art Kendall's post as a test.
Simply hit Reply and typed.  Let us see if the original is included.
I know if I Quote the original it will appear.
Please reply to the list and not to my personal email.
Those desiring my consulting or training services please feel free to email me.

I guess other list members have been clicking "quote".

These days I look at email with a phone, or browse to nabble spssx.

It would help me and perhaps many other members if people read the red text at the top of the nabble message page.

Thank you.

Posting from UGA archive.
Note did not check off either 'To the List' nor 'To the Poster' boxes.
OK forces to select one.  I think it should automatically select 'To the List'
Simply clicked reply.

You mean the part that says:

"Quote what you reply to and trim it to only the relevant parts. This provides context for those who will read your message by email.
•Avoid small talk such as "Thank you", "Great"... You can send a private email if you want."

Maybe they need to make it BOLD and BIG ;-))

Bear in mind that folks who post via Nabble have the option of deleting their posts *from the Nabble archive*.  Because of that, if no one quotes when replying, it is possible to have a thread containing answers but no copy of the original question.  That is one reason why I typically do quote the original post in a thread when I am replying directly to it.
