MVA and Insufficient Memory

Mesfin Mulatu
Hello All,

I am trying to run a missing values analysis in SPSS 14, with a P4 machine
and 3 GB memory. My data file is large (about 15,000 records).

I keep getting an insufficient memory error message every time I tried MVA.
I increased memory allocation using SET WORKSPACE; I reduced the number of
variables in the analysis; and I closed most other programs. None of these
seemed to help.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Mesfin

Re: MVA and Insufficient Memory

Fry, Jonathan B.
The MVA procedure stores all the data it will use in the workspace.  SET WORKSPACE to

(number of cases)*(number of variables used in MVA)/120.
