Hi Folks,
Verson 16 of SPSS will allow users to run R code. R is a free and comprehensive statistical and graphical programming language. It provides a wide range of procedures that can enhance and extend SPSS's capabilities. I have created a website specifically designed to help SPSS users get up to speed with R quickly. The site includes over 70 R tutorials on a wide range of subjects. The URL is http://www.statmethods.net Topics are organized around these headings: * The R Interface * Data Input * Data Management * Basic Statistics * Advanced Statistics * Basic Graphs * Advanced Graphs I hope that you find this useful. Please feel free to link to the site. Feedback is always welcome. Sincerely, Rob Kabacoff, Ph.D. [hidden email] www.statmethods.net |

That sounds good however I just loaded rel 16 on yesterday and found so
many bugs that I had to go back to rel 15. I can't believe they released it with so many things not working. I have a call into them to discuss the problems but I have not heard from them yet. So beware! Barbara,
Please let us know what 'bugs' you mean. I have 16 ready to install, but want to know if I should wait for the patch before installing. Dear Barbara,
I can't tell if your complaint is with SPSS 16 or with using R with SPSS. I have been an SPSS programmer for 25 years, but have nothing to do with either SPSS, Inc. or the R project. I am just trying to introduce R to the SPSS audience because I think that it help us do better analyses. Let me know if I can help. Hello again,
I'm sorry for the confusion; my complaint is with SPSS 16 not R.
