Dear list! I just saw that it is not possible anymore to buy DBMSCOPY. Is this really true? I had great use of this program some years ago. I would now need a program that convert SPSS, SAS and EXCEL in all directions. Is Stattransfer now the only alternative? Can Stattransfer also convert to and from SAS with regard to SPSS’s Value Labels (given SAS’s Format statement)? Any input appreciated. best Staffan Lindberg Sweden |
Hi:
Have you tried the package -foreign- in R? It reads/saves datasets in many formats. R+RStudio is quite user friendly, or, maybe you can use the R plugin with SPSS to do the task within SPSS (no expertise at all to offer here, sorry, I had to migrate to Stata 5 years ago) My two cents Marta On Sat, 24 Mar 2018 09:45:03 +0100 Staffan Lindberg <[hidden email]> wrote: > Dear list! > > > > I just saw that it is not possible anymore to buy DBMSCOPY. Are you sure you need DBMSCOPY or Stattransfer? So far, all SAS (and Stata) files I have received have been possible to open in SPSS. And since you can save SPSS files in SAS formats (and several
other), you should be possible to go the other way too. Robert From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]]

You could download the free demo of Stat/Transfer
(https://stattransfer.com/downloads/) and give it a try. Just bear in mind that with the free demo version, "one out of about every sixteen cases will not be transferred".
