Problem with SPSS 22

Hello,

I am having trouble with SPSS 22. Last week some dialogue boxes would fly off screen and become inaccessible. This week when I launch the program it completely freezes. The opening dialogue window is completely black, the data screen is available but nothing works. The only way to close the program is to ctrl-alt-delete and end it from the Task manager window.

Any ideas on where to begin? I did a re-install, same thing. Has there been updates/upgrades? I cannot locate this information on the IBM-SPSS website.

oops!  OS is Windows 7, Java V6 update 24 (build 1.6.0_24-b07)

the easiest solution is to reinstall SPSS22 & then its updates.

Sounds to me like the registry file has been clobbered. Reinstalling is an option but probably quicker to simply delete the registry tree for  SPSS 22. I’m sure somebody like Kim Peck will chime in here on the exact location in the registry for release 22

Might be others, but these are the two obvious places.
