For technical reasons you must use the
version of R that the plugin was built for. That changes for each
version of Statistics. For V20, it is 2.12; for V19 it is 2.10.
You can have multiple versions of R installed, but Statistics must use a particular one. In most cases R packages will work with a variety of R versions. It sounds like it would be much simpler and less fiddly to just use R directly if one wants to use R. ;-)
