SPSS 16.0.2 crashes

msherman
Dear List:  Whenever I quickly move my cursor in an output file SPSS 16.0.2 crashes on me. Has anyone had this problem (is it unique to my setup or common to SPSS16.0.2?).

I am guessing that you are in SPSS but what do you mean "move my cursor in
an output file?" Do you mean moving around the output viewer?

Excel paste oddities, and Re: SPSS 16.0.2 crashes

Ian Martin-2
In reply to this post by msherman
Hello Martin,

Do I recall that you are using Mac OS?

I've got SPSS V.16.0.2 running on a MacBook Pro and am not able to
get it to crash by rapid cursor movement in an output window.  So far
I am finding it quite stable (knock on wood). Maybe try repairing
permissions in Disk Utility?

BTW, I was having problems copy/paste output tables into Excel when
using SPSS V.16.0.2.  All the text would paste into a single column.
This was an old Excel (MS Office X) that I liked for simplicity of
function.

I did find that SPSS 16.0.2 tables copy/paste into newer versions of
Excel (V. 11.3.5) without this problem, but that I still have copy/
paste problems, especially when using keyboard shortcuts for copy
(command-c) and paste (command-v).  SPSS graphs seem to need "paste
special: picture" in order to paste into Excel (11.3.5) or Powerpoint
(11.3.5).

best regards,
Ian.
