SPSS 19 Installation Problems (small font in menus & jumbled letters)

Greetings,

I've encountered a problem with SPSS 19 upon installation and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I am running Vista. Once installed the font on the menus is ridiculously small and other places letters are jumbled making them unreadable. For example, the menu options (file, edit, view, etc.) are in a very small and hard to read font. The Date View tab, instead of saying 'Data View' says 'Ebub Wjfx.' I have screen captures of the problem if you would like to see them.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue? I've tried installing the fix patch from the IBM support page.

You should install the SPSS English version...it appears that you have installed the Eskimo version!

Eskimo would result in: “Ftljnp” because every letter changes one position in th alphabet (D -> E a- -> b t -> u a -> b resulting in Ebub
