Hi Everyone,
My colleagues and I am currently running SPSS 16.0, and our license will expire shortly. Do you believe an upgrade to version 17.0 is worthwhile, or would 16.0 suffice? Thanks in advance for your advice, -Kyle Kyle Kemp, MSc, CAT(C) Orthopaedic Research Coordinator University of Alberta Hospital 1F1.52 WMC, 8440 - 112 St. Edmonton, AB T6G 2B7 Tel: (780) 407-6992 Fax: (780) 407-7534 [hidden email] ====================To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. We have just moved the whole university from 16 to 17 because it is faster and the syntax editor is a fantastic improvement. We have allowed students the option of both versions but the majority choose 17.

I strongly encourage the upgrade from V16 which, in the opinion of many, was
less than expected. V17, on the other hand, has been favorably received but I would suggest, if at all possible, wait until the V17.0.1 update comes out - expected within the next couple of weeks. Colleagues,
I reluctantly send this request for help but I have tried the suggestions on the list reference file to no avail. I wish to change my email address I use for this list but no matter what I try I have not been able to achieve the desired outcome. I would appreciate it if someone could let me know the precise syntax that works. Many thanks and apologies for using the list for this question. You do not "change the address". You unsubscribe from the old address, and
then subscribe from the new one. You can also be subscribed from both. I have not tried it but it should work. Yes, I agree with Statmanz.
Version 17.0 and I just heard about version 17.0.1 are definitely better. They run smoother, without the slowness that SPSS 16.0 experienced. 17.0 all the way! Now, 17.0.1 all the way! By the way, 17.0 has imputation features, something that is nice to have! Also, I still trying to understand the new syntax feature. I do like the colors, though. Very fashionista! Although, because of lack of time to learn the new syntax, I use the syntax 17.0 like I did in 16.0. All of the other new features could help you too! Francesca Barocio, M.S.
