Dear all,
I recently had to upgrade from V14 to V17. Although I like the 'alter type' function, I generally feel V17 is a disaster. One of my latest frustrations is that I cannot see some tables in the output viewer. Where the tables should appear, it says (Processing...) and it continues to do so until my patience runs out and I switch to my laptop to rerun everything in V15. But anyway, is there anyway to remedy this slowness? Is my PC not powerful enough? Should I try to uninstall and reinstall SPSS? Is there anything else I could do in order to make V17 run more adequately? TIA! Ruben van den Berg Methodologist TNS NIPO P: +31 20 522 5738 New Windows 7: Find the right PC for you. Learn more. |
Dear Ruben, Are you running Release 17.0.0, or have you patched up to the available 17.0.3 version? If you haven't installed the patches, please give that a try. I've opened a support case for you on this issue. David Nichols SPSS, an IBM Company

Hi, I'm not overly tech literate, especially with SPSS, but I needed to use it for my dissertation.
I worked through some statistics with my lecturer on a MAC and saved the output file to datapen, when I open it on PC all of the tables show as (processing) too, bar one. They never load and I'm not sure how to recover them if possible. Any suggestions? |
I don't know anything about Mac, but I might be able to help if you still
have your original *.sav and *.sps files. Do you have them? Meanwhile have a look at the SPSS tutorials on my website. Hi there. Try opening SPSS first, and then using the menu bars from Files to Open to Output.
