Hello,
has anybody experience with SPSS for Win on an Intel Mac with boot camp and Windows (f.e. XP)? It seems, that SPSS does not support this combination. But here Mac-users say, that there are no problems at all. Is that true? If so, does anybody know the reason, why SPSS Inc does not support this? Thanks for any information! Guenter |

Hi Guenter,
I don't have any experience with boot camp, bu I have a Macbook Pro with 10.4 and Parallels Desktop running Windows XP and have not had any problems with SPSS 15 running in XP. I did call SPSS a while ago to see if it would work with Parrellels Desktop and they said no, but I tried the free download last week and it seems to be working fine. PD is $79 and does have its share of quirks, but at least SPSS runs ok. Guenter,
I am able to run SPSS using Parallels Desktop, VMWare, and even under Win4BSD on a PC-BSD machine (effectively BSD 6.2). I have experience with both Bootcamp and Parallels. It works both ways, but
the best performance you'll get with Bootcamp. With Parallels it works very slow. Hello, I am running a syntax below to get a bivariate scatter plot
GRAPH /SCATTERPLOT(BIVAR)=var1 WITH var2 /MISSING=LISTWISE /TITLE= 'var1 AND var2'. I have two questions: 1. once I click on the graph in the output, I can ask for a 'Fit Line at Total' - is this a regression line of var 2 predicted by var 1? 2. If yes, how can I ask in syntax to get this line in the output, without having to click and ask for it? Thanks a lot. First, why do all your posts contain text of a previous post? Please delete it before sending off your post.
To get the regression line in syntax, take the chart you created in the editor and save a template, checking only the fit lines items to save in the template. Now name that template using the TEMPLATE subcommand in your GRAPH command. -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Zdaniuk, Bozena Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2007 3:49 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: SCATTER PLOT QUESTION Hello, I am running a syntax below to get a bivariate scatter plot GRAPH /SCATTERPLOT(BIVAR)=var1 WITH var2 /MISSING=LISTWISE /TITLE= 'var1 AND var2'. Thanks to all, who answered my mail.
I wonder, why nobody of SPSS (f.e. Jon Peck) makes a statement to my questions. >>Hello, >> >>has anybody experience with SPSS for Win on an Intel Mac with boot camp >>and Windows (f.e. I don't respond unless I know the answer. This is not a configuration that SPSS QA has tested, and I have no personal experience with it. (There are a few things that I don't know. I'm working on that. :-))
