Hi all,
I am new in this list. My apology if it is not directly related to SPSS. Just assume that the items for each of the 4 domains to assess XXXX are already constructed. Assume further that the items for each domain were constructed based on the theme of the domain. However, the entire assessment instrument has not yet been subjected to any validation study. I dont know if the following procedure of validating the instrument is in accordance with the acceptable procedure: 1. Pilot test the initial instrument 2. Subject the items to exploratory factor analysis analysis. The purpose is to investigate if items are loaded to the right domain. Come-up with an instrucment based on the results of the EFA. I dont know if this step is correct? 3. The resulting instrument in step 2 would be tested to another sample. 4. Subject the instrument to CFA. 5. If the step 4 is "OK", then compute the cronbach's alpha to investegate the reliability of the instrument. I am pleased and thankful if you would correct and suggest me how to validate the instrument. Pdf of relevant references are most welcome Thank you in advance. Actually a lot of marketing research could also be called applied
psychology. MR is often done by people with psychology backgrounds. Actually the use of EFA _to double check the item keying_ is useful at all phases of instrument development and application.
