decimal places

Keval Khichadia
Hi,
I have a data set and I need to move the decimal two places to the left. I tried changing the format but can't get it to work.
For example,
134500 needs to be 1345.00
57389 needs to be 573.89
I am not sure what format to use. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Keval

Re: decimal places

ViAnn Beadle
A format specified on the FORMAT command does not change the actual value
once a variable is read into SPSS. Divide your variables by 100 and then
specify a format which will display the decimal values such as F8.2.

Maybe I misunderstand, but couldn't you just divide your variable by 100?
