frequences across multiple columns

Is it possible to run a frequency count across multiple columns? For
example, I have ten columns--procedure1...procedure10--and I want a total
frequency for procedures, regardless of which column the procedure is
listed in.

There are hundreds of values for the procedure variable, so working doing
this with the count function is not feasible.

Search for multiple response in the Help. The MULT RESPONSE, TABLES, and CTABLES procedures will provide frequency counts across columns. Do these do what you want?

Use Varstocases or the Data/Restructure wizard to convert the group of variables into cases and then just run Frequencies on the result.
