If you're on a PC, go to the start menu and find the SPSS group and you should see, in addition to the actual SPSS icon, a license authorization icon where you can put in the license.

Just so's everyone knows

code for 18]
Thanks for this, but I now have a serious problem.
The instructions for downloading and authorisation are as clear as mud. I
already have 18 and can't find a way to insert the authorisation code.
Tried to download 19, but it just ran out of time after 4 and a half
hours!
Now what do I do?
I'll try your solution, but why do they do it? They've
even changed the page layout on their mails. Do they own forests or
something?

Graham
You just saved me half a day, or rather I wasted
half a day before I saw your solution. Many thanks.
Why don't SPSS put stuff where you can see
it? ..and why have they changed the format of their emails so you
need a magnifying glass to read them? Anyway, 18 now safe until Aug
2011 so I can continue with my (unique and wonderful so the users say)
syntax-based tutorials for processing and analysing data from questionnaire
surveys.
They said I can have 19, but it time-expired 4 and
a half hours into download. OK for corporate giants with massive
computing, but not so good for retired academics on cranky old machines with
copper wire connections in rural France! Perhaps if I wait until
midnight..?
