Re: multivariate regression

People use the terms "multivariate"  and "univariate" in different ways.  For most statisticians, univariate & multivariate describe the number of outcome variables in a model, whereas univariable & multivariable describe the number of explanatory variables.

1. What do you mean when you say "multivariate"?
2. What type of regression model do you have in mind?  (What is the nature of your outcome variable?)

HTH.

hey asghar,
Assuming that by multi variate regression you are implying to perform simultaneous analysis of multiple outcome or response variables .. I believe you could start by delving into something along these lines..  Goto Analyze > General Linear Model > Multi variate.  Once the multi variate dialogue pops up, specify your dependent variable(s)  or outcomes and a list of factors and co-variates (or independent variables) and optionally weights.  I am hoping  you have already identified factors and co-variates in your data set.  if not then make sure to identify them before proceeding with analysis.

Thanks.
