I have just come across a statement that, to calculate a parallel analysis, researchers used a free EFA program called FACTOR  because “SPSS does not compute parallel analyses.”

Is this true?

The reference given is from 2006:

Lorenzo-Seva, U., & Ferrando, P. J. (2006). FACTOR: A computer program to fit the exploratory factor analysis model. Behavior Research Methods, 38, 88-91.

yes and no.

There is a free macro for parallel analysis with SPSS, but it is not provided by IBM.

Hey John, I think you're taking Richard's request for shorter subject lines (http://spssx-discussion.1045642.n5.nabble.com/A-request-shorter-subject-lines-td5722643.html) a bit too seriously!

LOL:  I was thinking the same thing.  Want to race to see who fixes it first?
