It is better for persons who wish to post to SPSSX-L to be subscribed to
SPSSX-L. The ability of non-subscribers to post has become a signoficant problem and may be removed in the new year. Oddly, I am getting tired of the spam, phishes, porn, poorly-written Unicode, &etc. --Joe ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. Hello Listserv Administrator:
I did register recently and have been getting postings from everyone, but they all go into my spam folder. I have marked 2 as not spam and they get into my inbox but the rest still go to the spam box mail. Could you please let me know how to make changes? I did try to post some thing awhile back but that did not seem to go through. Thank you. -------------------------------------------- On Tue, 12/23/14, [hidden email] <[hidden email]> wrote: Subject: posting to SPSSX-L To: [hidden email] Date: Tuesday, December 23, 2014, 5:08 AM It is better for persons who wish to post to SPSSX-L to be subscribed to SPSSX-L. There was a significant issue with Yahoo.com addreses last spring. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2141120/yahoo-email-antispoofing-policy-breaks-mailing-lists.html At the time UGA was still running Listserv 1.8d. We are now running Listserv R16 with the DMARC patch. Other than whitelisting, I cannot say as I do not know your mail client or any filters you have. Your spam setting are NOT a function of the LISTSERV software.
The are either on a webpage from your ISP e.g., verizon, i.e., if you are using webmail. Or They are settings on your mail client, e.g., Thunderbird, or OUTLOOK. I.e., if you are using email.

There can be a combination. In our case, the University is using Office 365, and inbound mail gets a "spam score". But if you are at UGA and reading it with Outlook ... Outlook does not use the score, and applies its own filtering rules.

Joe, since when have non-subscribers been able to post? When I first joined the list, I think one had to be a subscriber to post. If my vote counts, I vote in favour of subscribers only posting.
