spss gave me this:

Warnings
The GROUPS subcommand specifies an unknown variable or a long string variable. This subcommand must specify either a numeric variable or a short string variable. Text found: VAR00006
Execution of this command stops.

It looks as if your grouping variable is VAR0006. The grouping variable must be either numeric or a short string. Yours is a long string variable. One solution would be to make a numeric version of it via AUTORECODE.

Can you paste your syntax. It's seems your variable type is not correctly define.
