There is a V. 19.0.0.1 patch or update, on the SPSS support site. I
haven't tried cut/paste or copy/paste in a data file with this
version. I haven't found anything made worse by this update, but it
hasn't fixed much either, as far as I can tell.
I have installed it, and while it fixed a few problems, there are
still significant issues with 19.0.0.1 I have several support cases
open at the moment. Some problems have defined, but inefficient,
work-arounds offered as solutions by SPSS tech support. Others seem
to have no solution. Some problems occur only sporadically, so I
can't even know when I might lose all my work. Some known and pretty
fundamental problems:
- "Save as..." doesn't work unless "look/feel" is set to SPSS
Standard instead of default (Mac)
- using a saved chart template causes SPSS crash -- this is a HUGE
problem for me.
- opening a file opens 2 copies of the file, one with the name, the
other untitled.
V. 18 was much more stable on mac platform, but of course I can't use
it anymore on an annual license. Still using perpetual V. 11 for most
stuff. There's no way V. 19 should have been released with these
fundamental bugs that I discovered in only an hour or 2 of use.
