Hell there,
error occured when i read the filed in version 17 but the file was created by using version 22.

Here is one the error
"Warning # 1111

A numeric field contained no digits.  The result has been set to the

system-missing value.

Command line: 11  Current case: 66  Current splitfile group: 1

Field contents: '     .  '

Record number: 66  Starting column: 2271  Record length: 8192"

also I have made some changes in order to open.

Can someone give some insight?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are reading raw data from a file or inline?
There are NO substantive changes in DATA LIST or GET DATA commands so you are likely
defining the data incorrectly.
Next time please provide more information as to what you are actually doing or trying to do as the lack of context does not really provide any basis for providing specific guidance!.

Hi,

Spss v17 used codepage mode by default (set unicode = off), and v22 uses unicode mode. Might there be a multibyte char in your data? Also, perhaps the locale might have been changed by you or another user (I often switch between a dutch and english locale, for example). This could affect the decimal separator symbol (comma or period)
